MATCH DAY IMPROVEMENTS
Key new addition

The Match Day Experience has been improved in FM 2021. Every fixture now feels like a proper spectacle.

A new build-up and post-match experience bring you closer to the action than ever before.

Pre-game, it’s about utilising your backroom staff who’re there for you with all the info and advice you need to dominate straight from kick-off.

Tactical insight, team sheets and opposition reports contain both existing and brand-new data analysis to give you the ability to fine tune your tactics ahead of kick-off.

You can now see your squad down below on the screen by opening a pop up menu, where you can also see the new green / yellow / red hearts depicting the status of your players fitness, allowing you to make easy decisions for substitutions underway.

The match UI itself has been completely remodelled and modernized. Your screen is now dominated by the action, giving you the full view of the game, allowing you to appreciate a host of graphical improvements including improved player models, an improved animation system and improved lighting.


NEXT-GEN MATCH ANALYSIS STATS
Key new addition

Sports Interactive teamed up with SciSports to bring in more advanced metrics. You can now manage the game in more detail than ever before! Data-driven player and team insights are increasingly part of the way football fans and professionals experience and analyse matches.

Popular metrics like Expected Goals (xG) will be featured heavily in FM2021.

A post-match summary gives you the complete story of the game, including reaction from the press and social media as well as a suite of statistical information including SI’s own xG system, which makes an exciting debut in conjunction with the team at SciSports.

Delve into advanced match analysis statistics, such as xG match story, xG shot map and enhanced visuals for average positions. The xG shot map graph in particular shows the xG quality based on the position each shot was made from, on a scale from 1 to 12.

You’ll now be able to see just how clinical your players were or weren’t in front of goal.

How do you think this will affect you playing style? Will you be paying more attention to stats as xG in FM21? Imagine the scenes when your top of the league team racks up an xG of 4.5 and you lose 1-0 late on to a freekick to the back post with an xG of 0.2.



SQUAD BUILDING EXPANDED
Key new addition

Squad building has been expanded this season; bringing you closer to your scouting and data team to help secure your top targets. To do this, FM21 introduces a new staff role, new meetings and also new interactions all within a fresh and true-to-life transfer landscape.

You can now power your scouting and set your transfer intentions with brand-new recruitment meetings.

Before the start of every window you’re invited into a meeting with your club’s top decision makers. Here you’ll take advice from staff on the positions you need to strengthen while giving your thoughts and setting new assignments for your scouts.

These meetings prompt you to continuously think about you club’s next move and longer term strategy whether you need players immediately, or are looking at the long term, you’ll get help and advice from your backroom staff.

The positions that can be approved are based on criteria such as: not good enough first team quality, lack of squad depth, or simply players who are on expiring contracts, loan or are already sold.

This makes it easier for you to know where to strengthen in the transfer market and keep an eye on your squad and first eleven weaker points.



MEDIA HANDLING REVAMPED
Key new addition

The media handling is revamped on FM 2021, with the press conferences now showing all journalists present, their questions if you click on them, and their opinion of you as manager.

Will you be able to keep them on your good side, without saying things that will upset the board, players or fans?

Today's media are relentless in their search for headlines, so you better have a good think while you try to manage all balls in the air at the same time. If one drops, so might all others fall.



INTERACTIONS RE-DESIGNED
Key new addition

Communication in FM21 now has far more purpose. What you say and how you say it has completely changed. Not only have the press conference and conversation systems been completely re-designed but so has the way you speak. This is now far more human and more real than ever before.

Introducing Quick Chats that represent short, informal conversations that's like grabbing a player for a one or two minute conversation on a particular topic.

It can also cover remote conversations with people who aren’t at the club, so like players out on loan, opposition managers and even journalists.

Gestures are also a replacement of the tone system that’s been in FM for years. They allow you to be far more expressive with options for every situation you find yourself in from meetings with your squad to your weekly press conference.

So if you’re greeting a new signing, you’ll maybe welcome him with a wide armed greeting but if you’re unhappy with a question from the media, you may choose to be folding your arms.

You can use gestures to influence people on what you’re saying but they will also shape your personality and how your players and the media view you.



END OF SEASON EXPERIENCE
Key new addition

FM21 is going to let you re-live the highs and lows of your success like never before. Success doesn’t just mean winning trophies it could be avoiding relegation narrowly on the final day, or securing promotion via the playoffs.

Not only will these celebrations look better on the pitch with improved title presentations we’re talking trophy lifts, podiums and confetti canons but post-match there’ll be more media attention and hype too.

At the end of each campaign you’ll also get a brand-new season review presentation which will take you through your highlights, both on and off the pitch.

This end of season review will group together all of the campaign’s accolades too, rounding up any awards you or your players have won throughout the season. These achievements will no longer be hidden away in your club’s information screens but brought to the fore for you to appreciate and remember.

The pack won’t just consist of stats either, but opinions too. With social media reaction, press snippets and board feedback to digest, you’ll really be able to see how your year has impacted the outside world.

You’ve worked hard for the success, so you should enjoy it, no matter how big or small, put your feet up and revel in your achievements.

Squad View Enhancements

Fitness now being shown in a green, yellow or red heart instead of a percentage value.

Sharpness has had the same change into green thumbs and yellow and green arrows signaling a decrease or increase in sharpness.


Licensing Updates

Leicester City FC, the Premier League champions of season 2015–16, is now licensed.


Misc
- New interaction: Speed up decision making. You now have the ability to ask players to speed up their contract decision making - Perfect for crazy deadline days.


- "It's a special day for you, go out there and enjoy it". Added a bunch of team talks to give to individuals who are on the verge of a landmark appearance.


- Your social feed is getting louder. You'll now see fan-driven transfer rumours... some of which will come out of nowhere.


- Now you can view a player's goals and assists as well as match ratings per position to get a better idea of what suits them best.


- You'll now notice that certain players won't celebrate against old teams.


- FM21 brings clearer news, advice and interaction around suspensions. So you can warn a player pre-game that he's just one yellow away from a ban.


- You now have many more options when making a loan offer with an option to buy. You should also expect to see more loan offers with options/mandatory to buy as part of the new transfer system in game.


- Fans now speculate more pre-match around team selections and fuss over who should (or shouldn't) start.


- FM21 ensures that travelling long distances for international games has a more realistic impact on player conditioning.


- Introduced simple icons to indicate how your players previously performed in training. This week's Training Ratings are great but it helps to know how that compares with the previous week.


- Added another layer to some of the in-game tutorials. 'Tell me more' allows you to go deeper into the area.


- When you negotiate new contracts with multiple staff members at once, you'll now receive just one news item that merges all of the information in one handy place.


- Improved newgen models.


- Improved manager models.


- Covid-19 will be reflected in FM21 with a balanced approach between realism and escapism.


- You can't "turn on" nor "turn off" covid in the game.


- Definition to defensive width. With refined descriptions and smooth visualisations you can see exactly how you're asking your players to defend.


- New squad view. Now you can clearly see your player's playing time pathway so you know exactly what you've promised...


- Added a whole bunch of goalkeeper media descriptions, from world-class to wonderkid, to add a new layer of detail to your no.1.


- New signings are a little more special now. FM21 allows you to instantly assign training focuses, new trait discussions and set-piece duties, if they're up for the task... all within one easy news item.


- New objectives. Introduced new Club Vision objectives to make your experience more unique from club-to-club.


- Penalty pressure. Before entering a shootout you'll now be able to see your player's body language, allowing you to get into the mind's of your potential takers before selecting that all-important order.


- You can now ask a player's agent for his availability.

MATCH ENGINE AI IN FM21


Football might be known as ‘the beautiful game’ but it is often chaotic and unpredictable with frequent changes of possession, fluid movement across the pitch and endless battles between attacking and defensive units.

FM21 simulates this controlled chaos better than ever before with a raft of AI improvements across all areas of the pitch that lead to much more variety in the passage of play over the course of a match.

In this blog, we’re going to be covering every area of the pitch, including:

DECISION-MAKING
Part of what makes the match engine in Football Manager so realistic is the fact that the players and officials will each be making a decision every quarter of a second, which we call a “slice”. This constant stream of decision-making means that each player continually assesses the situation around them and performs the action that they think is best, based on their attributes.

In FM21, decision-making is more nuanced than ever before. This is all due to the fact that players in the engine will now be able to change their original decision mid-slice as the situation around them develops. This allows your players to be more reactive and make faster decisions which leads to a more realistic match experience with more fluidity and a greater variety of actions performed across the 90 minutes as a result.

This overhaul to decision-making works hand-in-hand with the improvements that the Animation and Match AI teams have made to the animation system itself in this year’s game. The Match team have reworked several elements of the decision-making code to supply the best information from the AI into the animation system so that those animations look better and smoother in action.


DEFENSIVE AWARENESS
One of the most impressive examples of the improvements to player decision-making is Marking in FM21. With the improved decision-making, defenders can now react more intelligently to attacking movement and can pass their marking duties on to another defender while they move to close down another player as the attack unfolds. This will occur in both open play and during set-pieces.

Defensive lines will also behave more like a single unit, working together to disrupt opposition attacks and isolate potential threats. Defenders will jockey players and prevent attackers from dribbling more often too as they look to make it much harder for attackers to move into dangerous areas. Defenders are now more adaptive when facing long balls forward and will contest aerial battles more frequently in these situations to try to avoid being left exposed by a flick-on or outnumbered during a direct counter-attack.


ATTACKING IN THE FINAL THIRD
Because of the extensive improvements we’ve made to the defensive AI, we’ve also had to bolster attacking AI to keep everything fairly balanced. Specifically, we’ve worked on improving the movement and variety of play in the final third to give attackers more tools to try to get the better of their defensive counterparts.

Let’s start with attacking movement. We’ve focused a lot of attention on improving the positioning of both AMCs and strikers and, depending on their role, they will now look to come to the ball more often and offer support for team-mates on the ball or drag defenders out of position. We’ve also tweaked the ‘Focus play down flanks’ instructions to improve the effectiveness of wide play.

Focusing play down either or both flanks or through the middle will now feature more obvious attacking movement as teams will look to overload certain areas of the pitch in order to exploit space in the corresponding opposite areas.

In general, FM21 sees much more movement in the final third as attackers look to create space or exploit gaps in the defensive line.

There are few things more satisfying in football than a perfectly weighted through ball and in FM21 you’ll notice more attempted through balls being played in the final third as well. Of course, not all of them will be successful but if you’re lucky to have one of the world’s best passers at your disposal you should find it much easier to unlock defences with a single pass.

It’s not just the build-up play that has been enhanced in FM21, there have been some notable changes to play inside the area too. Players are now much more aware of how much time they have to shoot and have better spatial awareness, especially in one-on-one situations. Speaking of which, when one-on-one with the ‘keeper, players will make better shot selections based on their angle to the goal and the position of the goalkeeper. You’re likely to see more dinks over the goalkeeper this year. Shot selection and spatial awareness are tied into the player’s attributes so more skilful players will have a wider variety of shots at their disposal and know exactly how much space they have to work in.

You’ll also see a higher percentage of players passing, and not shooting, from tight angles, depending on your tactical set up and the player concerned – some just want to try and score from anywhere, as they do in real life too.

Attacking players will also go to ground more easily in the box and not always if they’ve felt some contact from a defender. You’ll see them appeal for penalties to the referee for good measure as well.

There are more factors taken into account when VAR is used too. Previously, referees would have a very high percentage chance of making the correct decision when using VAR in FM but, as we’ve seen in the real world, there are some instances where VAR is subjective and referees don’t always make the decision that the majority would deem to be the “right” one. So, in FM21, referees will sometimes be more subjective when using VAR for anything other than offside calls and you’ll even see inconsistencies from one referee to the next when making calls on similar scenarios, just like in real life!

One other addition when it comes to offsides – players will now be more aware of when they’re in an obviously offside position and will avoid engaging with the ball as a result. Nice.


CENTRAL PLAY
In FM20, we felt that the midfield action was being bypassed too often and that the play that did take place in the middle of the pitch often didn’t do enough to reflect the frequently chaotic nature of midfield battles we see taking place week in, week out in real life. This was something that was echoed in the feedback from you, the FM community, which is why it became a major focus for us to improve this year. For FM21, we’ve placed a greater emphasis on central play that results in a more authentic flow to events in central areas.

Firstly, movement in the centre of the pitch has been reworked for FM21. One of the most obvious examples of this is the way that we have increased the number of interceptions across the pitch but particularly in midfield areas. Players will also now actively look to block passing lanes rather than following the movement of the ball. This brings the number of interceptions in our match engine more in line with the numbers you’d see during a real match.

We’ve also rebalanced risk-taking from players in central areas. The entire philosophy around central play is now built around getting the most impactful attacking players on the ball quicker which means certain players will look to play riskier, more direct passes into team-mates occupying central attacking areas. This is in part due to a reworking of the ‘Focus Play Through Middle’ team instruction which now places greater emphasis on those progressive central passes.

Defenders are also now more aware of the threat of play in central areas and will react more instinctively to those scenarios which will lead to even more interceptions as a result.


GOALKEEPER INTELLIGENCE
Last but by no means least, we turn our attention to the heroes between the sticks. Goalkeepers in FM21 will be quicker to go to ground in certain situations, for example, if they decide that’s the best option to prevent a low shot or to cut off space in front of the attacker.

It’s not just outfield players who gain from the improvements to decision-making either. Goalkeepers are now much more conscious of the time they have to position themselves for an opponent’s shot. When attackers are in or around the box, good goalkeepers will look for players who are setting up to shoot and will set themselves accordingly.

In FM21 Goalkeepers are now more likely to try to make aerial interceptions by coming out to claim crosses and, depending on their attributes, may look to punch the ball more often as well. FM’s Glovesmen will also now take weather conditions into account so, for example, on a wet and windy day, they will be more likely to punch the ball away instead of risking a dangerous catch.

Goalkeepers in particular also benefit from improvements to the Match Ratings system in FM21 too.


THE FINAL WORD
The improvements to the AI in FM21’s match engine will be immediately noticeable from the moment you enter your first match. The action will feel more unpredictable and fluid and will, simply put, be a more realistic simulation of football than ever before.

The extra level of depth that we’ve introduced to decision-making has led to improvements across the pitch with new variations in player movement, a refined marking system, a renewed focus on midfield action and goalkeepers that are more adaptive to the environment around them.

Javiću ja za vikend kako igleda beta kad istestiram. Gledao sam neko testiranje pre par dana, kad vidim neke stvari u igri bukvalno me odmah iznerviralo ali vidim da je stigao neki update u skladu sa ovim blogom pa ću lično i proveriti. Svakako je red realno da urade nešto konkretnije po pitanju ME, a da nije samo kozmetika.

Izasla Beta! Match engine izgleda vrlo dobro, iznenadjujuce dobro ako uporedimo sa nekim prethodnim beta verzijama. Dosta su promenili interface u utakmici, promenjen je dosta i nacin razgovora sa igracima (morate da im obecate neke stvari na pocetku sezone ). Sve u svemu za sada deluje izuzetno dobro, uz jos par popravki, ovo ima potencijala da bude bolje od 19 i 20.

Pojma nemam ako mi verujes, digao sam ruke od pitanja. Piratsko smo tržište bla bla, nemamo oficijelni store itd. Budalaštine. Umesto da kažnjavaju pirate oni kažnjavaju nas ali nikad nisu ni bili normalni.

To tamo u drugoj temi, daj ovde da vidimo kakva je igra.

Izgleda dosta dobro sve ovo. Kretnje mng prirodnije i raznovrsnije. Jasno vidljive razlike izmedju rola msm da to nije bio slucaj pre. Kazu da sad igraci mogu da promene i misljenje tj da u istoj situaciji ne reaguju svaki put isto. Ubacili su xG u statistiku sto korisna stvarcica. Generalno msm da ME unapredjen u onosu na pre. E sad vrv ce opet neki da ga tupe i da im ne valja ali svejedno msm da je napredak vidljiv.

Bolji ne ME na ovom fm-u, i to se odmah vidi. Konacno da dodaju loptu kada udju u 16 a ne da sutiraju kao ludi. 1na1 je mozda malo bolje, golmani su mi nekako bolji ali tek sam odigrao par utakmica.

Izgleda bolje nego prosli fm definitivno. Videcu kako ce biti dalje.

Nema korone u igrici, cak je i Miles to napisao na tviteru. Finansije su nesto promenjene zbog krize, npr bice vise ono sto sada rade timovi pozajme igraca sa nekom ugovorenom sumom.

Pozdrav, zanima me ako igram sa reprezentacijom dali ima opcije da repka igra na više stadiona(hrvatska-zagreb,split, osijek) (BiH-zenica sarajevo itd) i dali je to moguće izabrati da savez to ponudi ili je to nemoguće u igri.
